BOND UPDATE - MARCH 6, 2023

Dear Klein Oak Staff and Families,

Thanks to the community’s support of our 2022 Bond, our fantastic school is continuing to receive great improvements. As promised, I’m excited to share the most updated renderings of upcoming construction to our building.

Special thanks to our current school board for approving the escalation of safety and security projects with bond funds across our district. For added security, we will close the front breezeway by connecting our newly renovated theatre to our main school building with a security vestibule at the front entrance that utilizes a doorbell entry system.

Additionally, we will have a completely renovated front office suite area that is secure, welcoming, and provides all our counselors, administrators, and front office staff with modernizations to meet the needs of our students and families.

We will also have an improved bus drop-off entry area for students to safely and easily enter the building.

Our beautiful auditorium will have a connected walkway from the pre-function area to the new building addition. The second floor will include a collaborative workspace on the second floor.

In addition, we will have 22 additional new classrooms being built in two stories that will be located towards the front of the building. Our special education classrooms will also receive upgrades, as well as our clinic expanding and receiving upgrades. A new addition will be our new College Corner for students to receive guidance and assistance about their future plans.

Construction will continue taking place when we return to school in Fall 2023 with anticipated completion in August 2024. We look forward to these new additions to our beloved school so that we may continue providing a strong educational foundation in an excellent and safe environment. As additional renderings become available, as well as any logistical information to prepare for construction, I will certainly update all staff, students, and families.
